Παρατίθεται μήνυμα του ESN International σχετικά με ζητήματα στέγασης φοιτητών Erasmus+.
For 2 years, the HousErasmus+ project has been working to understand the housing situation for international students in Europe by bringing together the different stakeholders in the field, identifying challenges and looking for best practices.
We would be very grateful if you could disseminate our results in your network to ensure our recommendations are useful to a maximum number of actors.
We met with hundreds of university, student and housing provider representatives and we reached thousands with our surveys. In the end, we come out with a thorough analysis of the situation, its main challenges and recommendations to improve it.
Our research results can be found in two documents:
- The Policy Recommendation and Best Practice Booklet, a short document focusing on highlighting the problems and suggesting actions tailored for each stakeholder in the field.
- The Final Research Report: A lengthy analysis of the data we gathered and the existing literature on the subject.
Housing is the biggest cost for international students, finances is the biggest obstacle to mobility. Raising awareness as well as raising the level of engagement of the different actors of internationalization on this key topic is fundamental if we want to make the Erasmus programme more inclusive, open to all, and reach the target of the European Commission by 2020.
We hope that you will find our research to be useful to you and if there is only one thing we ask that you take away from it, it is for the need to cooperate more on this topic between policy-makers, universities, housing providers and student organisations. The solutions will only come out of joint efforts.
